how to fix your broken items using glue and baking soda, known as super glue or ca glue. Using baking soda and super glue together is a much more effective and durable method than repairing using cotton and super glue.
I hope you enjoy the tricks in this video thanks for watching!
Inventor 101 #superglue #ideas #lifehacks
Bro seemed pretty handy with the powder and a credit card
🤣 This hahahah
Ya, wasn't his first rodeo...
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gotta wonder where he got all these crazy applications for his SuperBakingSodaGlue? "Clothes Pins! I'll make clothes pins!"
Thank you. That motion was too smooth to be his first time cutting white powder with a credit card.
I’ve been doing this for a while. Be aware. It gets VERY hot as it cures.I was kind of holding the edge of something I was making with my finger and burned myself pretty badly!
Should be a highlighted comment
Thanks for the warning, appreciate that
Thanks for saying so . . . apparently the loud music is to cover the screams ! B-)
That would've been quite a good thing to mention in the video. Appreciate the heads up. :)
I saw the "steam" as the glue was dripped in. I was going to post to ask if this was an exothermic reaction, and if so, does it produce heat. The reaction looks similar to a compound we use and it gets quite hot when it kicks.
Holy cow, it's been a long time since I saw a lifehack video with actual lifehacks in it
The stripped screw is heaven-sent! And boy was he a pro at chopping that banking soda up! Took a side note on that too ;)
lookworm_, are you sure that was Baking Soda or did they accidentally record the "before the party starts" video. Lol.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The only disappointing part was when he didn't try to turn a nut with the glue-wrench
I guess that wrench would only work once or twice before it breaks..if it worked at all, depending on how tight the nut is.. but it proves you can make a specially shaped tool or a replacement part inexpensively very quickly if you needed one!
@@paullangton-rogers2390 It doesn't prove it unless its tested! For science!!
@@UhtredOfBamburgh Except with COVID vaccines.
He did try but it broke, that's why it didn't make the video.
@@Mitch-gu3dz again depends how tight the bolt is. also to get a better tool use a better mold the playdough probably made the tool have structural integrity problems. also if the power and glue were mixed better and more compact.
Does it work on a broken heart?
Don't try it bro. Today I was supposed to be a heart donor, but when they saw that I glued it together with baking soda and glue, they kicked me out.
😣😣😣
For that you require a happy mindset and confident personality!
@@yoghurt6152😂😂😂
Maybe.
This really does work. I fixed the back plastic of a 96 Ford F250 door panel that was breaking apart right where the window trim blade snaps on. That was several years ago and it's still working.
Thanks for sharing this! My dashboard (04 silverado) is cracked, and I hope this will fix it!
This is gold. Fixed my Porsche 944 broken dash parts with ease. Thanks man 👍
Can I just say first of all WOW, thank you so much for these tutorial videos. I am on my way to building my first house using baking soda and super glue. So much more cheaper than bricks!!
but for houses though, you'll find that silver bricks are cheaper than the gold ones and the superglue bricks are priced halfway between both, so you'll save more money by using the silver bricks instead...
🤣😂🤣
😝 LOL
Can you get out the front door? Maybe you need to call Super Man and his side kick, Baking Up A Storm
What I found most practical for me is reinforcing repair of plastics like in the case of the broken knob. The stripped screw trick was pretty good, too. Thanks!
@William schaft Just watched another vid on this channel using graphite (pencil lead) mixed with baking soda making an even stronger bond. Look for that one! Peace, brother.
Is it actually “super glue” brand or some more economical way of purchasing the product?
@Emmics tv What's that got to do with any of this, dude?
@@bfowler1000 Good question! Let me know if you find an alternative that works as well as super glue.
To deter plate theives put fingernail polish(I prefer clear)on the screws before you twist them in.
This is a great trick! I have also had great results with plaster filler, which unlike baking soda can be sculpted. Once it dries, drop the glue on and it soaks right in.
The problem with the plug at the end is that the post he replaced was the ground plug, so while the glue plug will help hold it into the outlet, it won't ground the circuit and therefore is completely unsafe. That and the fact that he probably used $3 worth of glue and an hour of his time when he could have just bought a new plug for $2.
The top pin or earth was made of plastic to start with so no earth circuit would have been made anyway. The reason it helps is the earth pin is longer than the live and neutral and when pushed into the socket it opens the blocking mechanism to allow access to the L and N holes. UK plugs, eh?
@@bellend702 UK yes.... but lots of other countries use the same plug
it was made out of plastic before breaking, so your argument is invalid
@@adi_trades99 Only the bottom part. Plus, superglue is highly flammable.
It was a plastic prong to begin with. Only some appliances require a metal prong.
This is brilliant. The amount of times I've wanted to fix something small and made out of plastic and super glue alone didn't cut it.
That rounded out screw head fix was brilliant! Ill definitely be using that 😁
Yes, exactly my thoughts!!
Got some cycling shoes I'll be doing that too soon😅
Would have needed that a couple of years ago.
Don't forget
That was a good one.
What a great trick. Thanks. I've recently discovered moldable epoxy made by JB Weld and others. Similar in how it can fill and hold, but moldable like putty. It has saved me a couple times, and now I have this option as well!
learned about this 30 years ago when a guy at a hobby shop helped me attach my RC antenna holder to the car frame. That thing NEVER came off! Pretty impressive how the two react. Baking soda turns it into SUPER DUPER glue! 🤓
Cyanoacrylate ('super glue' aka 'crazy glue') combines with sodium bicarbonate ('bicarb', baking soda) to emit toxic fumes. Use this method only in well ventilated areas, preferably outdoors. Handy, though-I fixed my washing machine switch this way, and it lasted years. Modellers use it to repair toy buildings and vehicles before shaping and painting, as can be seen elsewhere on KZhead.
@The Mexican Dude Yes VERY dangerous fumes!
Cyanoacrylate fumes can cause blindness.
I cannot see......watchout for me......m
These fumes unfortunately also cause the user to lose their power to speak, but compensate by allowing hyper accelerated movement.
@@themexicandude269 whoopsie
Like a foundry equivalent to 3D printing! Pretty impressive.
At pennies on the dollar....lmfao....
Well, they are called particle reinforced composites. They are around for a while and the reason 3D printer hasn't substitute them yet is because they are much cheaper and reasonably versatile. Depite being quite handy, this guy just discovered hot water (and he possibly has some form of intoxication/chemical burns due to the fumes and heat released in the process)
Just what I was thinking
Totally my thought!
Yes, Dudley.
this is lifesaving. thank you for showing me how to fix parts i previously gave up on! so awesome!!
I can think of many times this hack would have done the trick. Wow I will never forget this. THANKS!
wow, I didn't think it would hold me but I found myself glued to this
🥁 😆
@DISCONTENT 🤣
Brilliant
Super
i had a hard time hanging on too...till i added baking soda!!
Mostly very clever for demonstrating Baking Soda / CA properties, but it seems to me like cutting the cord and putting on a replacement plug head would be way easier and much much safer.
And the ground will actually work, because a real one is used out of metal, and conducts electricity. I'm guessing super glue and baking soda doesn't conduct electricity very well. 😳. But I loved all the other ideas!
That is a U.K. a plug for a double insulated device, the earth (ground) pin was plastic to start with as the device doesn’t require an earth connection by design. The plastic pin is there only to open the shutters we have on mains outlets. In other international markets that sort of device may be fitted with a two pin plug. I still don’t think it’s a great idea in this example because if the home made pin snaps off it renders the socket unsafe and unusable.
WOW!!! Thank you so much for sharing your tips and tricks with all of us and I’m very impressed 😊
Thanks for your kind reply. It is a brilliant method of doing tricky repairs. Jake.
Excellent video - steady camera, no distracting graphics, good audio, various ideas easy to follow.
Put dye into the baking soda and you can change colors on what you are making, it will look so good ✌️
this is a really great idea. thankyou for sharing.
This makes me want to breat stuff just to repair! Genius video!
Holy hell, the stripped screw repair is amazing if it actually works
Another trick (used it myself) is to cut of a small of wide postage-elastics (that mail delivery guys used to have in past) or ducktape and then carefully trying to move the screw. Saved my butt more than once :)
Would have saved me tons of time when I used to work.
Had to try it myself by stripping one. It actually did work.👍🏼 Give it a try.
At what minute of the video is the stripped crew repair?
I found it
This is better than epoxy in a lot of cases. Very handy/convenient. Thanks.
Very smart indeed! Well done. Thank you.
This is great! Even if me and my drill don’t exactly get along. I know others that can! Thanks.
2:24 is the explanation to the entire video.
More of a 3:55 myself
😆 I see what you did there.
Well it takes a lot of long hours to get over 4 million subscribers.
Up until that, I thought he was using baking soda!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Quick safety tip: Please wear a mask and eye protection when doing this. The fumes that arise from the mixing of those chemicals are *extremely* toxic.
Have some boric acid on hand in case you do get it in your eyes. Mix it in a pan w/ water, bring to a boil, wait till it's tolerable to the touch. Place a washcloth in the solution and place it over the eye, and shortly after, your eye will become un-glued. Fact Check True
Isn't that along the lines of Agent Orange?
And definitely don't snort it.
I used to teach elementary forensic science and used heated superglue (vapour) to develop fingerprints on hard surfaces. The vapour combines easily with organic material -like our lungs and eyes! We always did it in a fume cupboard.
I was going to fix a shoe, but now I'm scared.
Really works......ends up as hard as glass. I didn't notice any fumes. Great for fixing plastic items etc.
Love these vids....have used my own ideas with the sawdust from PVC and superglue but baking soda is just ready at your disposal no prep needed, even better. Wicked vid. Cheers
The segment with the stripped screw is pretty helpful. Thanks.

excellent! thank you so much, this will be useful and save both money and climate!
Seeing how that guy made a wrench with soda and glue I think I finally found a quick and easy way to copy my neighbors key. Lol
He didn't show it in use though, it might shatter or snap easily
No laugh...it works well..key imprint in too wax or clay....have fun.

Some great applications there although if I’m honest the last one seemed like it would be easier to just change the plug 😅
And safer

Great way to bypass a safety feature and risk burning down your place.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing there, if it's like here you can probably get them from hardware store for a few bucks.
This is a method is used for years. I’ve worked in Hollywood in a special effects on many movies and TV shows I built props I did animatronic and some model building. This method was as Sino concrete, crazy glue or Harvey Super Bowl with baking soda was used for quick fixes, and repairs works great on fiberglass plastics and everything from metal to even securing foam latex rubber.

@@seligjuggalo9378 Doesnt work at all with CA Glue. Trying a few other brands now. So far this seems like bullshit.
@@leeflorence3838 You need to layer it, apply the glue, sprinkle a powder and repeat. For ultimate strength you need more glue and to wait till it dries if you do it correctly it takes time, but the material is very dense and strong.

When @Shucky61 commented how this fixed the dishwasher door from falling off in 10 minutes. It made me think about my dishwasher.
