Practical invention - How To Quickly Remove Rust

Practical inventions and the amazing power of electricity in removing rust from metal! Rusty metal surfaces can be a real problem, but I think, I solved this problem! In this video I’ll show you how I used an old laptop adapter and some knowledge to get rid of rust from an old metal wrench.
The process of removing rust from metal with the help of electricity is known as "electrolytic rust removal" or "electrolysis rust removal." It works on the principle of using an electric current to reverse the oxidation process that causes rust during the process hydrogen gas is produced which is flammable like in my other video where I made a hydrogen generator.
I hope you like watching this video!
On inventor 101 channel, you can learn various inventions, science projects, crafts and DIYs teaching how to reuse or recycle.

  • Important to note which polarity the pieces of metal is connected to. Connect it one way and the rust will transfer to the other metal, reverse the connection and the flow of metal/rust will be reversed.. Basic electro-plating

  • Ok cool, so a cheap DIY electrolysis contraption! Only downfall is you cannot mess with voltage which really isn’t that big of an issue. Unless your trying to remove rust from something huge, no reason to raise amps or voltage.

  • 3 things: Oil the cleaned parts immediately after drying. The larger the sacrificial metal the faster it works, overall time can be 2 to 12 hours. You can use washing soda aka sodium carbonate aka soda ash instead of salt as well.
